 William Muir PaintingsStudio: 215 East Falls View Drive Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 (828) 885-2787 Until recently, and with the exception of a long-ago period of jewelry design and execution, my experience in the world of art has been as a conservator of fine art over the past twenty-four years. While this experience has provided me with invaluable training and practice in the skills and techniques required of all artists, it has been limiting, in the sense that it affords no opportunity for creative expression. Over the past year or so, I have begun to try to fill this creative void in my life by confronting the challenge presented by an empty canvas, and in the process, have discovered the joy of creating something that combines the skills I have acquired as a conservator with what has lain dormant inside my being for all these years, until now. Thus far, I have taken most of my creative inspiration from nature, but as seen from a different perspective with respect to color, form, and shape. I know not where this adventure is going to take me, but I do know that I am enjoying it immensely, and it is my hope that this enjoyment is reflected and shared through my work.
